School Meals

Solutions SK’s award winning catering team provides over 16, 000 school meals a day (over 3 million meals a year) to over 100 of Stockport’s schools including nurseries, infant, junior, secondary and special schools.

All menus meet the Government’s nutritional and food based standards and are analysed by specialist nutritional software. All menus provide  well balanced healthy choices children will eat and enjoy, encouraging pupils to try and taste different foods.
Stockport’s school meals are prepared in schools by our professionally qualified catering staff. We are committed to providing a value for money school meal service offering quality ingredients. Last year our primary school meals increased by 6% which we feel is testament  to the  quality and standard provided.

Working in partnership with schools and the council’s PSHE service, we are committed to promoting the health and welfare of pupils linking into the ‘Every Child Matters’ Programme. The service works with schools to assist them in obtaining the ‘Healthy Schools’ accreditation and also supports the Government’s ‘Million Meals Campaign'. You can be assured that your child’s wellbeing is our top priority.

We procure quality food via reputable suppliers to ensure quality and full traceability. Foods are sourced as locally as possible to reduce food miles and protect the environment. Our menus feature the following produce:

• MSC fish sourced from sustainably managed fisheries
• Farm assured meat
• British chicken
• Free range eggs and mayonnaise
• Salad bars available in all schools
• Therapeutic and cultural diets/foods upon request

We have stringent food safety systems in place and all our kitchens are inspected and scored annually by Stockport’s Environmental Health Officers.
