SOLUTIONS SK EMPLOYEES TO THE RESCUE

A water main leak on Petersgate Bridge in Stockport threatened to cause problems last week until employees from Solutions SK, Stockport Council's wholly owned company came to the rescue.

Large icicles began to form under the bridge due to the freezing temperatures, which caused a public safety issue. Enterprise plc, United Utilities' contractors called on Solutions SK Highways & Street Lighting department to remove the icicles.

After the icicles were removed with the help of an operative in a cherry picker employees from the Street Cleansing department were on hand to clear the fallen ice and treat the area with salt.

Solutions SK strive to work closely with a number of companies including United Utilities and Enterprise plc.

Managing Director Nic Cox said, "I am extremely proud of the actions of our employees in these adverse weather conditions, there have been some exceptional stories of employees going the extra mile and I think this is one that deserves commending."

The leak on the bridge was also fixed by United Utilities last week.
