Press Room05/02/2010 PUPIL SCOOPS TOP PRIZE A Stockport pupil scooped a top prize in a national competition supported by Solutions SK’s School Meals team. Solutions SK’s School Meals team encouraged pupils from primary schools to enter the competition celebrating British Sausage Week back in November. Jamie Foster-Grime who attends St Peter’s Primary School in Hazel Grove was runner-up in the Key Stage 1 competition which attracted nearly 40,000 entries. Jamie completed a sausage-themed colouring sheet winning £25 in vouchers, a framed certificate, a microscope for the school, and a £25 cheque to donate to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust - the lead charity for British Sausage Week. Stockport also had three other pupils that were highly commended for their entries, in the KS1 category Lauren from Hazel Grove Primary was highly commended, in the KS2 category Robert Markham from Vernon Park Primary and Hannah Leigh Good from Westmorland Primary were also highly commended. Overall there were over 70,000 entries in both Key Stage 1 and 2 categories nationally. Nic Cox, Managing Director for Solutions SK who provides school meals in Stockport added: "My congratulations to Jamie and the other highly commended pupils, the competition was tough - it is great to see so many winners from Stockport." Solutions SK provide school meals in over 100 primary schools and eight secondary schools in Stockport. All meals are nutritionally analysed to meet Government standards and provide pupils with healthy and well balanced meals.
