Healthy Meal Deal Promotion a Huge Success

A healthy school meals promotion organised by Solutions SK, Stockport Council’s wholly owned company has proved to be a huge success with pupils.

The promotion received more than 700 entries from the eight secondary schools that took part.

The promotion, which ran throughout March, encouraged pupils to buy a healthy £1.75 'Meal Deal'. Pupils were given a voucher with a unique code to enter into a website to see if they had won a prize.

Mary Bui, aged 11, from St Anne’s, was selected at random and scooped a Wii console and Wii Fit Balance Board as the overall prize.

Mary, who entered early in the promotion was lucky enough to be a daily prize winner - winning a Sony Boombox. Mary’s entry was then selected as the overall winner.

The promotion was a huge success, particularly in St Anne’s, Heaton Chapel and Stockport School with over 45 prizes awarded between the two schools.

In total there were 60 prizes up for grabs such as Amazon vouchers from £5 to £10, a Samsung digital camera, Samsung blu-ray disc player and an Apple i-pod nano.

Nic Cox, Managing Director of Solutions SK, said: “The promotion has been a huge success increasing the take up of the healthy ‘Meal Deal’ offered at schools. It is good to see so many winners from St Anne’s and Stockport School. We would like to thank all the schools involved for their support through out the promotion."

The promotion was supported by the School Food Trust.
