Solutions SK School Meals Team to the Rescue

Solutions SK, Stockport Council’s wholly owned company, came to the rescue of Hazel Grove High School after an attempted theft caused a diesel spillage.

The spillage was threatening to close the school as diesel had got into the main kitchen so food could not be prepared until the health & safety risk was removed.

Solutions SK’s School Catering team pulled together via the secondary schools they manage and Stopford Restaurant to source and produce 700 packed meals which allowed the school to remain open.

Emergency deliveries of the meals were made to the school by three area managers, two food champions and the group manager from Solutions SK to ensure they arrived in time for lunch.

The Solutions SK Building Cleaning department were also fundamental to the clean up operation, ensuring the kitchen was ready for Monday.

Jo Nolan, Headteacher at Hazel Grove High School, said: “We were informed of the spillage and we were fortunate to get the call from the school meals team at Solutions SK. We are extremely grateful to the team for their help.”

Nic Cox, Managing Director of Solutions SK, said: “We are delighted to be in a position to help Hazel Grove High School following the spillage. It is great to see what can be achieved and how quickly resources can be mobilised. I am extremely proud of the team for taking time out of their schedule to deliver the packed lunches.”

Solutions SK deliver school meals to over 100 primary and secondary schools. School meals in Stockport are healthy and nutritionally balanced, which offers children a number of benefits.
