New depot opens for greener services

Solutions SK, Stockport Council’s wholly owned company, officially opened its new depot.

Endeavour House, the company's new operational base off Bredbury Parkway in Bredbury, Stockport, houses the expanding refuse, recycling, street cleansing and fleet management teams.

The £2 million investment has enabled Solutions SK to bring together its operational services together on one site rather than three separate sites. This will help to deliver substantial operating cost savings which will benefit both the company and its clients.

And over 50 employees from Stockport Council’s Environmental Services Department have also re-located to Endeavour House.

The building's location close to the M60 significantly improves access to potential markets and new clients in Greater Manchester and further afield.

Nic Cox, Solutions SK Managing Director, said: “Buying the site is the first substantial investment made by the company and demonstrates the level of confidence Solutions SK has for the future. The benefits of the new site are numerous, in particular the financial savings which will contribute to the Council’s savings.”
